  • history of Poland
  • geography of Poland
  • religion

Spiritual Upbringing

Saint Casimir's Polish School shapes not only the minds of children and youth, but also their hearts.

In addition to learning the Polish language, history and geography of Poland, the Polish school prepares children and youth for holy sacraments such as 1st Holy Confession, 1st Holy Communion, and the Sacrament of Confirmation.

At the level of each class, catechesis takes place, and once a month students participate in the so-called school holy mass, preparing the Liturgy and the procession with gifts.

Students are also invited to serve at the altar as altar boys and altar girls, read during the holy mass, and sing religious songs in the "Iskierki" band.

Our Successes and Activities

Students of our school take part in numerous competitions organized by foundations and Polish diaspora organizations operating in Canada, including the Adam Mickiewicz competition for the best Polish language essay, organized by the Polish Teachers' Association, and the Władysław Reymont Foundation Recitation Competition.

In the 2007/2008 school year, laureates of the competition at the school level advanced to the final, which took place in Toronto.

Children, with the help of teachers and parents, prepare "Jasełka".

A children's musical band "Iskierki" operates at the school.

In the 2020/2021 school year, students of our school took part in the "Słowem-Polska" recitation competition organized by the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland. One of our students qualified for the 3rd stage of this competition.

In the 2024/25 School Year, two female students qualified for the Final of the Władysław Reymont Foundation Recitation Competition in Toronto and one of them won a bronze medal taking 3rd place.

In addition, students of the Polish school participated in large numbers in several competitions, winning valuable prizes:

  • "My roots" - under the patronage of the Consulate of the Republic of Poland
  • "Slavs" - under the patronage of PVA
  • "Famous Poles" - under the patronage of the Knights of Columbus from St. Casimir's parish
